International Students

At Brighton Primary School, we take pride in warmly welcoming international students and their families. Renowned for our academic excellence and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, we're a favoured choice for those relocating to Melbourne. Our accreditation with the Department of Education's International Student Program reflects our commitment to a globally inclusive community.

Transitioning to School

We prioritise empowering our students to confidently embrace change. Our goal is to make important transitions smooth and exciting for your child.

Before the school year begins, we encourage future Prep students to:

  • Visit the School
  • Join our ‘Be a Prep for the morning’ session
  • Participate in our transition sessions to get familiar with their new environment
  • Come to Orientation afternoon to meet their new class and teacher

And we encourage parents to enrol in a school tour and participate in our Prep Parent Information Sessions run by the Prep teaching team.

As your child progresses through each year, we maintain a consistent support system that adapts to their changing needs. For Grade 6 students, we facilitate the transition to secondary education through structured collaboration with local high schools.

Parent Payments

While the Department of Education’s funding ensures the provision of the Victorian Curriculum at no cost to you, it's the voluntary contributions from our families that allow us to go above and beyond, providing exceptional programs and resources that make our school truly stand out.

We want to assure you that every contribution, though voluntary, directly enhances teaching and learning for our students. Your support enables us to undertake school improvement projects that contribute to a better learning environment for students. This financial support helps improve our facilities and curriculum resources as well as enhance our support staff.

Here is the parent payment information for our current school year as well as more information about the Parent Payment Policy created by the Department of Education.

We understand that some families may face financial challenges, and we want to assure you that support options are available. Brighton Primary School offers the following assistance programs:

  • Second-hand uniform shop
  • State Schools Relief Fund (SSRF)
  • Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF)

For a confidential discussion about accessing these services or to explore alternative payment arrangements, please feel free to contact our Business Manager, at 03 9592 0177 or via email at brighton.ps@education.vic.gov.au
